We are using [Deprecated] Export SQL to Flat File smart service and we recently updated the plugin version to 2.10.0. We tested it is working fine as expected. Do we know if we can continue using this smart service?

We are using the Excel tools plugin to read data from an uploaded excel file into a database table. The plugin is reading the display value of a cell instead of the actual value.

For ex. Display value is 0 for actual value 0.003.

Is there a way to get actual value? please suggest

Version 2.10.0 introduces a breaking change which impacts processes using the smart service "Import CSV to Database" where the data source is external. CSV Imports fail with the error: "Error Executing SQL", which works fine in version 2.9.0. Requesting clarification if a resolution is known for this issue or if this would be fixed in an upcoming release.

Hi Team,

Observed a behaviour in the “Import Excel to Database” Smart Service: when we map duplicate Excel header names to different database field names, the import fails with the error “column name cannot be null or empty.”

In our use case, a single Excel header needs to be copied into multiple database fields, but this is currently not possible due to the error.

Could you please verify this behavior and confirm whether it is a known issue? Also, can you confirm whether this will be addressed in an upcoming plugin release?

Hi Team,

We are facing an issue while parsing a CSV file that uses the delimiter "¤Â" (two characters). In earlier versions, we were able to successfully parse this file using the "Import CSV to Database" smart service.

However, after the latest release, the same approach is no longer working as expected. The process does not throw any error, but it also does not produce the correct results.

It appears that in the new release, the smart service accepts only a single character as a delimiter.

Could you please advise on how we can handle a multi-character delimiter in the current version?

Observed that in 2.9.2, "Import Excel to Database" smart service does not support table column names with spaces and the following error is encountered in such cases: Invalid column name: <Column Name>. Only alphanumeric characters and underscores are allowed

Hoping to understand if this is going to be fixed in an upcoming release of the plugin, as the upgrade to 2.9.2 would require substantial changes in processes relying on column names with spaces.

Import Excel to Database node smart service is not working with plugin version 2.9.2. It's throwing an error "Invalid column name: Cost Center. Only alphanumeric characters and underscores are allowed".

Earlier it was working fine with version 2.9.1.

For Appian version 24.2.1295.0 and Excel Tools version 2.6.3, I am getting following error.

ERROR ImportExcelFileToDatabase ORA-17041: Missing IN or OUT parameter at index: 2

Is this due to a version miss match ? Which version will be suitable with my current version of Appian and will upgrading the plugin cause any issues with the older code?

Hi there, we are using Excel Tools version 2.8.2. We use the Export CDT to Excel smart service. I see a warning about hte plugin being outdates and I also see

Export CDT To Excel (Deprecated)

If we were to update the plugin does that mean that this smart service will no longer be accessible? If so, is there a replacement or alternative suggestion for it?

Hello everyone,

I updated the plugin from version 2.6.3 to version 2.9.0. I noticed that the readexcelsheet() function is no longer present and the new functions in the plugin are not working properly. Could you provide me with instructions on how to replace the readexcelsheet function using the functions of the updated plugin?

Post Appian env upgrade to 25.3, "Encrypt Excel with Password" is failing, giving an error as "A folder needs to be provided for this particular configuration".
I have checked we are passing folder id properly and its accessible. Also we have not made any change in the flow, before upgrade it was working absolutely fine.
Appreciate your help.
