this has to do with your PATH environment variable setup incorrectly. If you have a folder name that has a space in between. For instance java jdk is installed under C:\Program Files\java\jdk then put quotes around it like "C:\Program Files\Java\jdk\bin". But if you are specifically creating a user environment variable called JAVA_HOME then it doesn't need quotes

Ahh figured it out. I changed the Path entry from C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.8.0_144\bin to %JAVA_HOME%\bin and it started up just fine. Thanks a ton for the assistance.

I found an article that says the environment variables might not like spaces in the folder path and to put it in quotes in both %JAVA_HOME% and in the Path variable.

I have the path entry set to C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.8.0_144\bin

Did you set the path environment variable to have %JAVA_HOME% or %JAVA_HOME%\bin?

Thanks for the response. Yes I have JAVA_HOME set to C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.8.0_144.
