I would definitely encourage you to keep Appian up to date in order to take advantage of the many improvements and new features that come with each release.

That looks similar ,but we are on 18.2 ,any other suggestions. And on another note when APPIAN is withdrawing the official support for 18.2

I think the functionality you're looking for was included as part of the 19.3 update to Appian. https://docs.appian.com/suite/help/19.3/Appian_Release_Notes.html#sync-user-profiles-and-group-memberships-during-saml-sign-in
