I've tried on another workstation, same problem; I've also tried compatibility mode on IE9, no change. Could it be linked to the Windows firewall ? (I saw in 6.5.3 doc that it should be disabled to use Appian, but for the time been I can't desactivate it, will try later)

Would you mind testing on another workstation to see if it could be an issue local to your machine? Appian 6.5.3 was certified for use with IE 7, 8, and 9, as those were the versions available then.

If you are using a newer version of IE, then you might want to try adding your Appian site to use compatibility mode.

Thanks for your answer. Yes I know for the version. It's not a JS problem, it's enabled. Could it not be something else than the Appian version?

Make sure you are using the appropriate IE version and have JavaScript enabled.
But most importantly, please upgrade your Appian software. The version you are using has Support expired in 2012.
