Can you confirm that the version for urn:jboss:domain:1.4 is correct? Let's try updating that line to be <server xmlns="urn:jboss:domain:1.2">

Ok I placed it in the deployments directory. Had the same error. I took the appian-ds.xml file out of the deployments directory and had the same error.

That file should remain in <JBOSS_HOME>\\standalone\\deployments\\appian-ds.xml. If there is not a deployed, failed or isdeploying appian-ds.xml file, that's fine. Go ahead and start the app server.

Can we stop the app server, stop the engines. Delete <APPIAN_HOME>\\ear\\suite.ear.deployed | .isdeploying | .failed. Delete <JBOSS_HOME>\\standalone\\deployments\\appian-ds.xml.deployed.
Start up the engines then start up the app server again.

Ok I am not sure where some of my comments are going. But I will repeat.

I took out the 1.0 and replaced the example with what you stated. I still get the original logging error though. My xml now is well formed (finally)

Ok found the needle in the haystack. Fixed the standalone.xml file. I still get the same error when running the standalone.bat file though.

Ok so this part of the documentation is pretty confusing because I don't see datasources:1.0"> I have datasources:1.1">

So I went ahead took out the SQL Server from the 1.1, created new subsystem with 1.0 (guess that what I need to do). Still broken at the same spot, but see the xml is also still broken. I checked the tags and they look legal to me.

I just tried opening your standalone.xml file in IE, and it threw this error:

Can you double check that you have configured the driver properly: forum.appian.com/.../Configuring_Relational_Databases
