Thank you for your response. We actually found out that the issue was in Appian's login.jsp file. it sets the username textbox to block autocomplete.

We were able to fix it by editing the file to say autocomplete="on" and now IE does prompt us to save the password.

It could also be that at some point in that computer you selected "Don't offer to remember any more passwords" when responding to the question "Do you want Internet Explorer to remember this password" similar to what is explained here: blogs.msdn.com/.../restoring-the-internet-explorer-password-autocomplete-prompt.aspx

This seems to be more like an issue with IE since Firefox do ask me whether I want to save the login information or not which means Appian is not doing anything to block this feature.

You can use the Remember Me feature though that comes with Appian by default.
