The Appian Keystore (<APPIAN_HOME>\\_admin\\shared) is encrypted with a password stored in the Primary DS. When migrating, the <APPIAN_HOME>\\_admin\\shared should contain the original key store that was encrypted with the password stored in the Primary DS.

The error Rohith found in your log shows that when starting the app server your <APPIAN_HOME>\\_admin\\shared\\appian.keystore's password didn't match the one in your Primary DS.

Thanks..I overlooked that one. I'll give it a spin. I did get the same error when trying to migrate. I'm curious to see if you know how this was caused.

Yes, if you are doing a fresh install, you need to start with an empty Primary Database.

I first tried migrating then I deleted the c:\\appian directory and ran a fresh install. I am reusing the same datasource and it has all of the original tables from my 7.8 environment. Should I be clearing these out of the DB if running a fresh install?

The relevant error in your server.log is :
FATAL com.appiancorp.common.crypto.KeyStoreConfig - The internal encryption module is in an inconsistent state. The appian.keystore file is missing or cannot be read. If migrating or restoring from a backup, ensure that _admin/shared/appian.keystore is in place. (APNX-1-4210-003)

Are you migrating from an older version of Appian or is this a fresh installation?
