Urgent: Community Edition Access Needed for Certification Re-attempt (India Region | No Response for around 2 Weeks)

Hello everyone,

I am currently preparing for the Appian Associate Developer Certification and urgently need access to a Community Edition (CE) environment.

My registered work email is: sagnik@alumnux.com
I am attempting to access the platform from the India region.

I had previously been provisioned a CE workspace under this email, but it was later deactivated due to inactivity. I have since raised multiple requests for a new environment and also emailed the Community Edition team over two weeks ago, but have not received any response.

I would also like to mention that I attempted the certification exam on 21-Apr-2026 but was unable to clear it, primarily due to lack of sufficient hands-on practice in the Appian environment.

I am now preparing for a re-attempt and require CE access to complete the exercises in the learning path and strengthen my practical understanding.

If any moderators or Appian team members could please assist in re-provisioning access or guiding me on the correct next steps, it would be extremely helpful.

Cannot insert records to use "Write Records Smart Service" in Process Model

As the title suggests, I am having trouble inserting data using the "Write Records" in smart service.

I have configured the node according to the official documentation, but I keep encountering an error that prevents the data from being inserted.

I would appreciate it if anyone could help me identify the cause of this issue.

Unable to Store data entered in interface to the data store

The data entered in the interface is not being stored in the Database.

I am using latest version (26.3) of community edition India region.
Can I get solution for this or alternate way for this.

Iam working in appain community edition and trying to create a record type and facing the following problems like

1 .not getting start from scratch option while creating record type

2. when selecting database option it shows error : data source cannot be reached

3. CDT/Data store is not accessible in this environment

4.unable to see cloud database in navigation bar

could you please suggest the recommened approach.

Request to delete Appian workspace due to incorrect region

Good morning,

I am writing to ask whether it would be possible to delete one or more Appian workspaces that were created with an incorrect region.

I am responsible for managing and mentoring interns who need to complete a training program in Appian. Unfortunately, during the workspace creation process, the wrong region was selected. As a result, they are not being granted the appropriate workspace and do not have access to many of the required features to proper complete the training.

This issue is completely blocking the start of the training. We already contacted the support team about a week ago, but we have not received any response so far.

For this reason, I would like to know if it would be possible to delete these workspaces, even if only to allow us to recreate them in the correct region so that the interns can proceed with their training without further delays.

I remain at your disposal for any additional information and thank you in advance for your support.

I'm going through Appian Developer Learning Path - Application Building Blocks - Design Record Types: Model and Configure Your Data - Exercise 5: Design Record Types - Create the W#SA Vehicle Record Type. When attempting to configure the data source I don't have the option to select AS_VEHICLE per the snip above. Did I miss something or am I missing that from my account.

You must have edit access to at least one of the applications this record type is in to generate event record type

I am writing to ask for the best workaround for this issue where, in Community Edition, the generate events "wizard" usually fails with this message, "You must have edit access to at least one of the applications this record type is in to generate event record types". Appian Community Edition Support <communityedition@appian.com> responded to me saying that engineering is aware and working on a solution. The workaroud suggested is to manually create the record types and press the "Use Existing" button. This gets me part of the way.

After creating the Event Type, Event History, Reply Thread and Subscriber record types and their relationships, is it sufficient to add rows to the Event Type table to accomplish what the Generate Events was supposed to do?

Field-Level Auditing with Record Type Events - Need Help(Appian)

I'm working on an auditing solution and could use some advice. We've got Record Type Events set up and they're working great for tracking basic stuff - like who updated a record and when. The Event History table captures all that perfectly.

But now we need to go deeper and track what actually changed in each field. Like if someone updates a customer's email from "old@email.com" to "new@email.com", we want to capture both the old and new values, not just that the record was updated.

We really don't want to create separate audit tables for each record type because we have quite a few and it would need maintenance.

I'm wondering if anyone has figured out how to use Record Type Events to capture the before and after values when fields change? Do the events give you access to both the old and new record data? And if so, what's the best way to compare the fields and store just the ones that actually changed?

Has anyone built something like this before? I feel like this should be doable with events since they're already tracking the changes, but I'm not sure about the implementation details.

Any tips or examples would be awesome!

Appian New UI to develop seems to be a disaster

I am deeply disappointed with the new user interface design on Appian. The changes introduced have cluttered the visual space and made navigation more cumbersome, detracting from the efficient and streamlined experience we previously had. Please consider reverting to the previous UI, which was more efficient and straightforward.

Start process on timer and condition

I want a process to start every 5 minutes and only if a condition is true. if the condition is represented by the value of a boolean constant, it works, but i the condition is a result of a rule it doesn't work.

Maybe it's not possible to set the start of a process this way?

Having the documentation in this format would be beneficial for navigating and referencing the material more easily. It would also enhance development time, as I could simply search through with a control+F.

Data Sync Error when starting in newly created workspace

I am working through the Appian Analyst learning path. I have set up the Appian Community Account, but while working through the hands on activity I am getting an error message when selecting the VIN for vehicle detail:

“An Error Has Occurred An error occurred while retrieving the data for "W3157AA Vehicle". Details: This record type or a related record type with sync enabled is unavailable because the data has not been synced, or the existing synced data is invalid. Contact your system administrator. (APNX-1-4205-052)”

I went to the Monitor tab in Appian Designer and tried to refresh, but it hasn't corrected the error. Does anyone have any insight into this error or how I can correct this so I can continue in the workspace?

Accessing Appian Community from Bolivia

Hi! We have a new hire in our company and he is from bolivia. He is unable to access to the appian community website and to learn appian unless he access to the site via a VPN

With a vpn, he can log into the site but he cant access to the learning resources (he gets a 403 error).

Image Not Showing in Email from SharePoint in Appian

I am trying to include an image in an email template in Appian. The image is stored in SharePoint, and the link is accessible to everyone. However, the image is not displaying in the email, even though I have used the correct <img> tag.
• The SharePoint link is publicly accessible.
• The Knowledge Center folder has default viewer permissions.
• I can be able to see the image only when I login to Appian, but others cannot.

What could be causing this issue? How can I ensure the image is visible in all email clients?

we are upgrading the our platform from 24.1 to 24.4 version and we have noticed that in the 24.4 release

Rich Text Header() componet is going to Deprecate so we thought to use a!headingField() in our application

but my question is how many days Rich Text Header() will be available after we upgrade our platform.
