Hi,

The "Excel Tool" smart service are dependent on the appian version cloud/on premise. First check the compatibility on the shared components into appian forum and then download the desired updated version of the plugin.
"Parse Excel to CDT" is the updated plugin available for cloud instance. The main point to bear in mind is the column name in the spreadsheet should be exactly matching the CDT field name(case sensitive). Try this out!

Does the File necessarily needs to be an Excel ??

In case if you can opt for CSV , then "Import CSV to Database" is the smart service that will serve better for your requirements. It writes the file data into a table that contains column names same as header names in your CSV(one restriction is that headers cannot contain spaces), this helps in saving the process memory as the data is not loaded into the process variables.

There is plugin called parseExcel Spreadsheet.
By using this one you can achieve your result.

when you are using this plugin, keep in mind, column names in cdt must be same as column heading in the spreadsheet

Could you clarify your issue a bit more? Is the issue that you can't store your excel file in a PV while you parse it into CDTs? Either way, if you upload the file on a form, the work to parse it needs to happen in a node following it.
