you could also use the "Query Database" smart service, if the database is in the same network, if not you could have problems with security.

I Agree Abhay. But most of the clients are preferring integration tools to connect Appian with other systems.

Hi Shiva,

In my view, here any integration tool is not required. It can be easily accomplish by SOAP or REST service (now to create service it require some other platform like .Net/Java/Php.

Any integration tool will only increase the complexity here, if they are not using any integration tool already.

Hi,

If you wanted to use web services you need to have an integration tool like Mule soft to integrate Appian with your database.

I agree with Sandeep, if it is a one time activity you can generate the required data in Excel and dump into the Oracle DB.

May be Web service is the only option we have( I never tried this before). or if it meets your requirement, generate excel in Appian for appropriate table and import it manually into Oracle DB..

IN that case, create a web service which communicate with your oracle and do the thing you want and consume that service in Appian.

Oracle data base is not yet integrated in Appian. It is database for other application outside Appian.

Assuming that your Oracle datasource is already configured, if you want to insert/update data into a table, please follow the below steps.
1. Create a CDT.
2. Create a datastore and map the respective datasource.
3. Add the cdt as data store entity in the datasource. Create a constant for the data store enitiy.
4. Use write to data store entity to insert data into the table. If you want to update a particular row , then make sure the id(primary key) field in the cdt already exists.

Hello,

You have to add that database in Admin console >Integration>data Source in every environment you want. After adding that data source in your Appian, You can do whatever you want to do with the data base depend on your security and the points you have to keep in mind are :-

1.When u create the CDTs you have to provide the namespace of that particular data source you added.

2. Also when you have to create data store, you will get 1 dropdown field which contain all the data sources name your Appian(Means All data sources in the Admin console you added) is connected to, from there you have to select the require data source.

3.When you deploy data stores in higher environment then you have to publish it by selecting the data source from the dropdown.
