The other posters are correct that you download the XSD and modify it, but personally I almost never do that. Instead, I typically either:

Make the change in the Appian CDT first, then publish the data store again. This will automatically add the new column to your table in the database
Make the change in the database and make the same change in the Data Type Designer. Unless you're doing something complex, most of the time you can just add the field directly in the UI and it will map correctly.

Hi jesseb0003, please go through this course "Design Advanced CDTs For RDBMS Schema Management". In that, the topic "JPA Annotation" will give you adequate knowledge on editing CDTs and XSDs.

FYI, To update the XSD after downloading, Please check the code in the document and add another column that you wanted with all the desired attributes and save it.

To upload a newer version, please click on settings gear icon on the CDT and click click on "Create new version from XSD" to upload the document you edited before.

Later verify the CDT with your data store and this is done. 🙂

Hi Jesse, the new field will not be updated automatically in your cdt. You would need to update the xsd and re-upload with new field added. You can click on cdt and once it opens,

To download the XSD file for a data type, click Download XSD in the settings menu of the data type designer.it would be on top right hand side with gear symbol.
