what is happening exactly user input task is not opening? Have you applied chaining in your process model.

Basically I have a form in which I'm capturing the data from db for each and every field but there is one field for which user input is needed.

This is the requirement.

No I'm using user i/p task, I have created a procell model and in my interface I have used start process link but still not working. Can you please elaborate step by step .

Does it mean you are using a process start form? I am actually not clear with the requirement. Also, please add some better and actual titles to your threads.

You can create a process to update the date which you can trigger using a startProcess from your site
