Well, a CDT is just a data structure, comparable to a record type, but without all the records magic. I suggest to read the documentation.

Well I got some basic understanding about CTD's but would like to have some hands on so looking for some help about the alternatives. Can you help me in finding some examples or already built codes/process models around CDTs. BTW all this is purely for my learning purpose. I don't have any client use case around it.

No. Appian CE does not support CDTs or custom plugin development. For CDTs, they become mostly obsolete. What are you looking for?
