Unfortunately, a News Feed post cannot contain HTML in the message.

Hi Morné Lombard may i know, is there any specific reason behind using using HTML in message while posting it through News Feed?

Because i feel when you post something as News Feed, the post content is treated as normal Text / String hence it doesn't matter whether you send the message as HTML or a as a normal text.

So i recommend you, please do not opt for this option while you are posting a content through News Feed.

It is not possible to use Rich Text or HTML in a News Feed post.

You can use the Rich Text Component to have more options like bold, italics and emphasis like in HTML.

I dont think that is possible. I would recommend to give a try with rich text, but again I think it is not possible.
