Calling a subprocess more than 1000 times is easy to achieve though it's not a best practice. One way is- put a counter node inside your sub-process and once counter node reach to 999, there should be XOR gate which will call the subprocess itself. It's like nested subprocess (i.e. Sub-process calling itself after 1000 instance) then instance may go upto 1000*1000 times.

I do not think there is a limit, (unless someone can point to where this can be configured in any config xml, etc), we have some batch processes that run more than 25,000 times via a gateway node and had no issues with it.

True. Agree with adamc323. You can customize in your environment but 1000 times is by default.

You shouldn't see any performance issues at 1000 times. Are you asking what is the limit before there is a performance issue? If so I don't think that is a universal number and depends on your environment.

You cannot count Gateway instance.But, you cannot loop back to Gateway directly. So you have to use a node in between. Then It's clear that 1000 only :)

ASFAIK gateway instances will not be counted, We can use as many time as we want.

You shouldn't have any problems in this case - it won't fail at 1000.

What is your use case? Is there a reason you're trying to loop through a node so many times?

Thanks Sandeep. My question if I execute a Gateway node more than 1000 times in a loop, will it fail? if it fails then how we can handle it?

Did you observed any issue here?

I guess it's 1000 only like Script task.
