Hi Narmada I believe, in order to upgrade an application, it's better to refer upgrade guide as suggested by Thomas.

During upgrade we need to think about many aspects such as :

1. We want to upgrade from which version to which target version (preferably do not upgrade from higher to lower environment)

2. What are the deletions and deprecations with respect to function, smart service etc..

3. Is there any better function or smart service introduced, which can simply your job than your existing configurations

And similarly there are some other factors with respect to hardware configurations as well.
