try adding a new admin user again using the password.properties file...

Hi Paul,

If you haven't configured password.properties file, most probably we can make it work by starting all the servers and cleaning the temp data after configuring password.properties file.

Even i went through this problem. This thing worked fine for me.

Appian is a sensitive tool.. so I would recommend reinstalling appian to resolve the issue

pauls985 , It should create user with System administrator. something went wrong. Can you stop jboss and appian , try the same with different user. Delete jboss temp folder before starting.

Paul, if password.properties was never loaded then this sounds potentially like a bug in the startup process. Do you have any other Sys Admin users besides "Administrator"? Probably worth talking to Appian support.

Regardless, one thing you could try is create your user through a process instead. As Administrator, create a process model that calls the Add User smart service (creates a basic user), then call the Change User Type smart service (changing that user to a Sys Admin)
