Remembering the selection is 17.4 feature.

You can add custom sign in links to Appian signin page from 17.1, below is from 17.2

I believe that only works if you have multiple IdPs which we do not have. 17.4 has not been rolled out yet here so I cannot confirm or deny that it will work.

To make things more confusing, we have some users who are not SAML authenticated, so they would need to not return back to Okta, but to continue to see the Appian login screen
