I have a custom table "USER" , in this contains different user details. By using this user details...is this possible to login into appian? Instead of appian user.

This is a pretty common scenario (e.g. LDAP, database query, file ingestion, etc) where Appian users need to be adjusted based on a separate system of record.

Once the users are synced in Appian they will be able to login based on your environment's configuration (i.e. username/password, SSO, etc).

I would not suggest trying to create generic accounts for multiple users to share. That is very likely a breach of your licensing agreement. Coordinating with your Appian AE for any questions on licensing would be best to make sure your organization is setup for what the business needs.

RE: Appian Logins by using custom user table

Hi bhanuprakash,
It is not possible to login with custom table USER ,Appian User must be created through Admin console only, So he can only able to access it.

RE: Appian Logins by using custom user table

Hi Sandeep,

Thanks your reply.

it is good idea, but we have different users need to login into the application.

For generic user, you mean to say, when any user try to login into appian by using this generic user then they will do the next steps??

my understanding is correct.?

No it is not possible. If your user count is really very high like 1000+ then I can suggest it would be good if you can propose your business to created Shared/generic user account. Or you can create a utility for multiple user creation.

Thanks,
You cannot use external database for that.
