On this : Does this mean Web-Api's are not application specific as we don't save them into any folder inside the application and we need to delete the web api before we actually deploy it from the lower environment ?
No Object is directly Associate with Application. You can add 1 object in multiple Application as well even if they are saved into any Folder.

Hi rohitr303 ,

Deleting of any application will not delete objects.

It will give you message like "Delete Application
WARNING: You are about to permanently delete the selected application from the system! (Items associated with the application will not be deleted).".

You have to delete your Web Api from Existing System First.

Any object in Appian can be a part of an Application and you can simply say that the object is in context of the application.
Conceptually applications are there to group object which are related to one Business Solution not to store objects.

But deletion of an application will not delete any objects inside them. To delete a web api you need to delete the Web API only
