Good news, hope it’s useful. I’ve uploaded a new version to the app market that also includes a cardLayout version which works nicely from a UX and has the html colour options. Hopefully of use to someone out there!

The zip file is a 18.2 creation. I will have to wait until we have upgraded before I can look at the code.

Realised I've slightly over engineered this for your use case but I got caught up in the challenge. Similar to the interface designers own styled icon inputs you can add a text box to accept the HTML color, a web link to a free-to-use color picker and regex validation on the value.
