Well I asked the same question and the exam says

“This exam is immediately available on Appian Academy and will cover concepts introduced in the latest release”

So as of now it is 18.3

Hello Everyone,

Thank you all for all your replies. They really helped me.

I have given Designer certification few days back and as Siva said, I also think that Designer is on 18.1 based on one of the questions. But be prepared on 18.2 and 18.3 as well because Appian says that the questions will be from latest release.

As per my understanding, appian academy can only answer to your question properly. As there are few, question's answer is completely different while comparing previous version to the new one.

Also there are many clients who are still using 17.4 version of appian and haven't even upgraded to 18.x version. Hence its difficult to predict from our side.

Also, watching training/academy videos will be very helpful.

If you go through training videos for Analyst and Designer from academy, it should be sufficient for designer credential.

Hi Pankaj,
Here is my suggestion:
As there are no huge changes from 18.2 and 18.3 you could prepare for the 18.2 itself. But if luck doesn't favor us you might encounter 2-3 questions from newer versions. Make sure those few questions doesn't directly impact the result of the exam.

Hi Pankaj,

I have given the exam 2 days back, AFAIK The designer exam is on 18.1(based on One question with the options) . Again as mentioned by Shanmukha , it can be on 18.2 . For sure it won't be on 18.3( As most of the designers won't have hands on )

It is bit difficult to say. Appian Corp can only comment on this. :-) AFAIK since it is just a month old or so. You may concentrate on 18.2 since 18.3 does not have any major changes. I heard that exams would always be on latest version.
