Thank you to all that responded. This issue was related to the visibility and privacy policy settings. Initially, visibility it was set to Personal which it turns out hides the group ( including the name ) from non-admins of the group. We subsequently changed the visibility setting to Restricted and the privacy policy to High. This configuration provided us with the access control we were looking for. Thanks!

Hi Philip,
If the user running the expression does not have permission to see a group, that group will not be returned in the result.
Could you check the visibility of the group that you are searching?

I think it would be helpful if you could show us how to replicate your issue. What error or unexpected behavior are you actually seeing here?

The group name I am using is nowhere near that length. I will confirm the length shortly.

Hi Philip,

In the design tab while creating a group, for the group name field it accepts only 1200 characters. If we enter beyond this limit it displays a validation as shown below.

Can you please elaborate the issue you are facing?

Hi Philip,

Can you let us know the length of the group name that you are trying with? And what's the behavior that you are seeing? I have tried with a group name having more than 360 characters and it worked for me.
