Yes, we are stopping the App server first and then the engines. we confirmed that the java process no longer exist before stopping engines. We have stopped all the antivirus services in the server. but still its giving inconsistent DB error for EXEC 00,01 and 02 gateways..

How are you stopping your environment? Can you confirm that the application server comes down first, and then the engines once the java process no longer exists? How do your checkpoints occur? Please ensure that *.kdb's are excluded from virus scans. More information can be found here: forum.appian.com/.../Post-Install_Configurations

Hi Patty, Thanks a lot for all your help. It worked this time. however we do have another concern, Whenever we stop and start appian engines we are getting fatal errors "inconsistent DB in gw1" on exec engines. Clearing off the KDB's will resolve this issue, now we dont want to delete any KDB files as we have data in our application. We tried executing repair.bat which didnt help, Please advice...

Please check the syntax of your appian-ds.xml file: forum.appian.com/.../Configuring_Relational_Databases

Ensure that the second datastore is within the
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<datasources xmlns="www.jboss.org/.../schema">
..
</datasources>
after </xa-datasource> for your primary datasource.

Also check that the JNDI for your secondary datasource has been added to custom.properties: forum.appian.com/.../Configuring_Relational_Databases

Hi Patty, We tried to add a new <xa-datasource> tag in appian-ds.xml file to add the secondary datasource name, however jboss is not coming up after making this change, its giving an error message "Failed to process phase FIRST_MODULE_USE of deployment" appian-ds.xml (Err code: JBAS018040). Jboss is up after removing this new xa-datasource tag. Please advice.

Did you configure both a primary and secondary datasource? The JNDI name for the secondary datasource would be visible in the Datastore tab, while the primary datasource is used to configure Appian.
