As far as I know there is no API/trigger for app export.

I'm assuming you are not using Appian compare and deploy. Manually export the app/patch and commit to git. The rest of the steps can be automated depending on the CI/CD pipeline you are using. Here's the playbook, you may have already reviewed it.
