You will still need to submit your task. I suggest you search for a way to have the process flow loop back into the same task node (but a new instance), while preserving the state the original task was in. What are you using for Chat, is it some plug-in?

All official guidance I've seen from Appian suggests that the file uploaded is only moved into its target location when the form is submitted (either via submit button or by submit link).

Hi,

I think instead of using submit button with submit true, you can make use of an action link button to start a process in backend by usng a!startProcess for submission of file and not refreshing the interface.

the interface is a chat application. I need to stay on the same conversation after send a file.

not refresh and return to the first chat.

What is the Use Case? Why do you need to not have the interface refreshed?
