i looked a existing functions to see if it is helpful to control size of elements.

I tried it several times to implement a outlook/google like calendar visualization. As Appian does not support to directly control the size of elements, there are always some edge cases where it breaks.

We ended up with developing a custom component using https://fullcalendar.io. It is not public and I cannot share it.
