Any particular reason why you can't use the following built-in Smart Services?

Export Data Store Entity to Excel Smart Service
Export Process Report to Excel Smart Service

Where is that data coming from? Can you share some details about this use case?

In general, you should avoid storing larger volumes of data in process variables.

I do not believe there is a defined maximum here. In my experience 6000 rows with 3 columns is not much data for Appian to handle. I would just pay attention to your process archiving/deleting settings for server health but it should be no issues to process that size data.

To note, while the Export CDT to Excel service is deprecated, I still utilize it as well as there is no other service with it's capability available.
