Otherwise, you can create a smart service that gets the document from the CMS in binary and sends it to the printer API , without needing to download it to Appian as a document.

RE: Print document via API

I never implemented direct printing from Appian. In the internet, I found this

https://developers.hp.com/print-fundamentals-developers/blog/printing-web-app-directly-printer?language=en

Option 1 and 2 seem pretty simple, but this really depends on the IT architecture of your client or company.

RE: Print document via API

Thank you for the reply, it is in document management system

RE: Print document via API

Thank you for reply. Yes you are correct, I am trying to understand if anyone have tried sending a document directly to a remote printer which is not connected to your laptop or local computer via a API call or integration (not sure yet)

More of proof of concept question to see if anyone have done it ? I am also going to try 🙂

RE: Print document via API

Is the document stored in a Document Management System or is it a document uploaded by the user?

RE: Print document via API

That button could start a process in the background and do whatever is necessary to print that document.
