No fixed numerical limit. This is depends on Server hardware infrastructure and your Appian Process design (like, Complexity, Activity chaining, plugins/ integration etc.). Thanks.

It depends on so many thinks , there is no specific count. Some of the parameter which i think are
1. How many Process execution engines you have configured
2. How efficiently you have build you process model
3. Chaining in process model
4. Usage of Sub process node vs Start Process Smart service node
5. Node and Process variables in process model

Why are you holding such big amount in memory ? I think looking back at the design will help to reduce the momory footprint . I suggest that you look at this Playbook article. community.appian.com/.../creating-memory-efficient-models

RAM is a big concern, as well as CPU. We are somewhere in the ballpark of 120 GB RAM, currently holding over 650,000 total processes in server memory - many are large scale. We've been over 1,000,000 before, but the server was not very happy.

From what I know this is just limited by the amount of RAM your server has. I have seen systems with several 100.000s of active processes.

What is your use case? There are way too many variables to answer this question. What are the specs of your server? How complicated are the process models?
