Hello ajaved , I am using log reader but it is not working for the '.gz' zipped logs. Is there anything you can suggest to access those files inside appian for further processing.

We raised a technical support ticket with problem, and also suggested the solution for the problem. They were happy to make that change as that was a valid issue. Are you facing some difficulty?

@aayusha, good work. This will be helpful for everyone. I am using Appian 7.11 on my local machine. so, that maybe the reason why I was not facing the issue. So, as you mentioned the number of columns may have increased in 16.1/16.2

@adeelj, @gayatriv55, @chetany.
You guys got it correct.

The observation:
The issue is with csv files.
I have found out that 4 files from audit folder are not giving correct results.
Now, as stated above the one of the files from preflogs is also not working.
All the problems are with csv files only.

The Problem:
Check out each file and note the number of header columns.
Also, note the maximum number of columns for any given data (check for the first row in file and then last row - you will find a difference).
You will find with each file which is not working, that the number of headers is less than number of maximum columns in a row (for the last row).
The number of columns must have changed as part of 16.1 or 16.2 upgrade, depending upon which file you are looking at.

The possible solution:
Note: This will require a possible an hour of downtime and I haven't tried this (going to suggest the same solution to Appian Technical Support, Let's see if they agree with that).
stop the application and server --> download the csv --> and cut the rows with extra columns and paste them to a new csv (with correct number of headers) --> now rename the old csv (desktop file) --> upload both the csv (old with old headers and new with new rows) back to the server folder --> Start the server and application.

@adeelj, it returns all data for "web_api_summary.csv" which is in the same subdirectory. So we can't conclude that there is any problem with subdirectory. It might be related to the csv file.

@gayatriv55 Nope, tried and it only returns header information, no data. I am assuming it is an issue with sub-directories, because I can get data for any random csv log in main directory, but any file I pick from sub-directories just returns headers.

@chetany, I have tried the "perflogs/web_api_summary.csv" its working with both slashes (/ and \\). But not working for "web_api_details.csv". Also my "web_api_details.csv" is not empty, it has 6050.1 kb of data.

You need to ensure that you have configured the logs so that Appian writes to the _details log files. (it is written every hour)

The web_api_details.csv is empty on my env. You need to enable it so that Appian writes data to it. You can try web_api_summary.csv

Maybe its a problem with the slash?

@gayatriv55, do not use the keyword syntax. Pass all the parameters. If you only want to pass csvPath, startIndex and batchSize, then pass them, but other parameters should be passed null.

The reason is that custom plugin functions do not work with the keyword based syntax. You have to specify all parameters in order. (You can pass them as null if you do not want to specify)

@aayusha my requirement is to read the log details from the "preflogs/web_api_details.csv". but if I try to execute the below piece of code then it returns all headers but blank row.

@gayatriv55, if you are referring via log reader then I was able to read some csc files from audit folder. But files like records usage shows error in 16.2

@aayusha We used the Log Reader component, as far as login-audit.csv is concerned it works fine, but you are right it is not returning data for a select few files.
