If you have to display the Asterisk on field label only for appearance then you can use a!richTextImage and a!webImage .

However you can conditionally use required value as true or false based on if() so that it can show/hide the red asterisk

@nickh647 i agree with @reginaldm377 and @mschmitt, you cannot use validationGroup in order to display red asterisk as this is not meant for making any field as required, if you want the same then you have only one way, i.e. using required attribute

You need to figure out a way to do this without using the validation groups. There are different techniques for accomplishing this, but the one I go with most commonly is to only allow certain components/sections on a form to be edited under certain conditions, and/or to disable certain buttons until certain conditions are met. It's hard for me to say what might best suit your use case without more details - if you could share, there are probably plenty of people around here who could suggest ways to meet your requirements.

AFAIK, that's not possible. I'm not sure if anyone else has achieved this.
