You cannot convert .kr files to other file types nor can you convert other files types to .kr files. These .kr files are the equivalent to .class files in the context of Java. They contain the code that the Appian engines use to run.

I need to use a portal that allows .kr files only to upload. I need to send .pdf, .jpg, and .rar. The only way I've found to convert is www.youtube.com/watch?v=qm_BlGeUYb4. Alas, neither the link nor the email address there works.
How can I convert other file types to .kr?

Thanks brett for the post, but wanted to ask is there any information I can get about such type of files, I mean like, do we have any documentation about these. It would be really helpful for us if you can give those details.

The .kr files contain engine application logic shipped by Appian. They do not contain data and therefore do not need to be part of regular data back ups. The should be backed up when creating a full backup of the installed software, for instance when upgrading or applying a hotfix.

AFAIK, there is only a necessity to take the back up of .kdb file for any upgrades. May be this link would be helpful !!!

kr files are used with the k database. They are files that you should not have to worry about.
