Thanks Robert for the clarification this is Interesting.

I thought it was possible to connect to As/400. But yeah that was the whole point of reviewing the versions of the jdbc from a ticket I came to know we cannot request a change to it.

Then they might need to add an extra layer to the solution.

Please take note of my other comments.
It's not an option to simply select JDBC drivers to add to Appian.

We need to carefully qualify DB2 compatibility.

Appian has native support for the DB2 database product that is installed and run on either Linux, Unix, or Windows.

Versions of DB2 that run on other operating systems, like AS/400 or z/OS, are actually a different product. (Don't get mad at me - Talk to IBM!!!) These versions are not supported for use as Appian data sources.

Web Services (Appian Integrations) are recommend to connect to databases that aren't supported by Appian.

In the event that you are successful in establishing a data source connection with a non-supported database, design capabilities associated with those data sources will be compromised, i.e. you're going to experience unexpected behavior that Appian support cannot fix for you.

Adding to Carlos Comment if in cloud you might need to create a VPN connection with Appian and please review the jdbc driver version with Appian team . All this might require some case tickets to the Appian support team.

DB2 is supported. See docs.appian.com/.../System_Requirements.html for system requirements and docs.appian.com/.../Configuring_Relational_Databases.html for configuring the database connection.
