That's correct. Take a look at the following docs for more information on how you can use the smart service and the different error codes. For testing purpose you can try to invoke on of the free web services in the link below:

Thanks for the link. I've read the post and it appears from the comments that it's not possible.

This will be my first time using the Call Web Service smart service. Am I correct in assuming the Appian will connect directly to the location in the WSDL? I'm trying to figure out definitively if a proxy can be used or not.
