&lt;p&gt;And PUT - used to update a record if existing and insert if the record is not existing . POST- to insert a new record. Here both these methods can be applied to insert .&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Get is for querying data and POST or PUT is for adding or updating data in an external system.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;For example: Consider a employee management system (Appian internal system) and it is linked to a payroll system (external system).&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;In this case if appian wants to get the payroll detail from the payroll system then we should use GET integration.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;If appian wants to create a payroll account or update anything in payroll system then we should use POST / PUT integration&lt;/p&gt;&lt;div style="clear:both;"&gt;&lt;/div&gt;</description></item></channel></rss>
