those all require a password and this particular method does not, we are trying to use that as a template to build our own but have not succeeded yet.

Have you looked at the Shared Components section and the SFTP plug-ins that are available there? See if they are good examples for you to build your own plug-in or if they can actually be used instead of building new ones.
