Hi Prateek,
I need to integrate with Google maps and get the coordinates out of it in Appian based on the given search .
If you could walk me through on high level on how to approach it will be a great start !

Hi vetrivelk

1.You need to provide Latitude and Longitude here as this Geocoding API takes Longitude and Latitude.

www.google.com/.../place Key"

In my case I created one more expression rule which calls Integration having API call to:
maps.googleapis.com/.../json Key"

!!Don't forget to substitute the "spaces" with "+". for Rule Inputs in API Parameters.

The above API will give you JSON result and you can extract latitude and longitude from the above expression rule to pass them into Geocoding API(www.google.com/.../place Key") in webcontentfield().

2. www.google.com/.../place
you can directly provide a place here as well but it needs iFrame to display map ijn UI which Appian SAIL doesn't support as of now.

You cannot directly embed dynamic maps in SAIL Interface. Although in 18.1, there is a function called webContentField() to embed content from external source, it does not work for maps. The only thing you could do to make your map more dynamic is you can add a path between two locations provided by user in your static map and can also change the zoom feature of your static map according to user input. Further, you can add a safe link to google maps from your interface.

Thanks Aditya. The way you have mentioned, it would work like the static way, but what if I want to show in dynamic way in a block within SAIL form like the actual google map works.

Hi,

Once you get the API Key, you can use the following code to display a particular location on google map in a SAIL Interface based on the provided latitude and longitude by the user. This will only work for static maps.

Can anyone please help me on how to display google map in SAIL. I have also proceed till getting the google map api response. Now I want to display the google map dynamic link in SAIL. How to do that like Shivakanthr did in the above picture.

Hi shivakanthr : I have a requirement where I need to display the google map on SAIL form based on latitude and longitude. I used one of google maps API and got the address based on latitude and longitude.
Now based on this address, i am trying to execute following google Maps API:
{maps.googleapis.com/.../json
and got the response. Now how to proceed in displaying it on SAIL.

That doesn't seem relevant at all. The requirement is to calculate directions, display a list of possible routes and allow the user to select and display one of the routes. Simply displaying a map of a location isn't even close to the requirement that has been posted.

We have implemtend this functionality, but not exactly what you mentioned.
In my case once user enters complete address, we are displaying the location as attached

I suggest you look into using the Google Maps Directions API (developers.google.com/.../) in conjunction with a!httpQuery() and the a!fromJson() functions.
