SQL Server 2014 is indeed supported from 16.1, however, it is not provided on the cloud. If you have a VPN connection setup, you'll be able to integrate it with your Appian instance. (as your business data source, primary still has to be the MySQL that we provide on the cloud)

The second link applies to on-premise customers only. You can integrate any of those databases to your cloud site as additional datasources, just not as the primary.

Only MySQL is offered as the primary database in the cloud.

You may connect to any of the other supported databases on your premises using VPN.
