If it's in a process instance (which is why I asked that first), the problem I've seen most often is that the rule input isn't mapped to a task node ACP. The interface would seem to work correctly in the editor, but would act the way described in the OP when running an instance.

Without any other details or code snippets, my guess would be that the saveInto is not properly configured to update the variable utilized in your value parameter.

Is this happening in the Interface Designer, or just in a User Input Task in a running Process?
