If you have actions that only mechanics can perform then its better to have a separate mechanic group in your app and add the user to that group. If not, then you need to check your requirements, and add to appropriate group.

Ah ok, it seems there's a whole context missing here...not everyone on this forum (including me!) is going to be familiar with what it is you're attempting to do or what materials you're currently working through. Please provide as much background information as you can.
