Hi panakaj,
i used that smart service but till now i didn't faced these kind of issue what you are facing. can you check once whether the name and format is proper or is the document which you are passing as input is having proper images names with proper permission. sorry if i'm wrong but in my opinion we will get these kind of issues with permissions.

Hi rajasekharp, i have done the same thing, i got the output file but its showing that file is corrupt, when i downloaded it and extract, its asking me to replace image1.jpeg , i think smart service adding image but not replacing it hence it is asking me to replace while extracting the output FIle.

Hi johnrheyj,

That 'word/media' is not appian path it is word template path. If you have 7 zip in your system then right click on your document template and extract it. Then you can see the path of the image you kept in your word document.
For example: In previous comment i added one document right. Just extract it with 7 zip and you can see the path and images in that path.
And coming to the smart service you just need to pass the document so that in will exract the file update the image in that zip file and again convert it into document and return it as output.

About the issue of corrupting: I didn't faced any issue like that till now. May be the problem is with your template. So please check and update it once.

Hi rajasejharp, thanks for the response. I followed your instruction on your documentation and the process runs with no errors encounter. However upon opening of the document it says that the file is corrupt. Have you encountered such problem? Also can you clarify following question?

1. word/media is path inside the word template?or it is an Appian directory?
2. if Appian directory, should I create path or I can create my own path?
3. How did you create a word template in such that when I replace image on the path specified it can automatically replace with the updated image.

You configured the smart service wrongly that is why you are facing the issue. Here i attached the documentation of how to configure the smart service

Hi rajasekharp, I got few question that might be the problem when doing the process:

1. word/media is path inside a zip file?
2. If yes on 1, is the word template included inside that zip file? What path is should be in?
3. How did you create a word template in such that when I replace image on my path it can automatically replace with the updated image.

BTW here is my current configuration for the 'Add Documents to ZIP' smart service

Base Document: NewTemplate.zip
Create New Document: true
Save In Folder: Folder Destination
Existing Document: NewTemplate.zip
Documents To Add: Signature of the Approver
Document Paths: word/media/Signature-Sample.jpg

I didn't get you.
Actually when we replace the images inside word/media/ by using 'Add Documents to ZIP' smart service then those changes will automatically appear in the word doc which will be generated as output of that smart services.
In my opinion, may be you didn’t saved the output of that smart service properly.
So if it is possible can you brief about how you used the smart services and what are the configurations you given so that we can able to provide better solution for your problem

Hi rajasekharp, how can I able to replace default image inside the word doc with the new image upload or signed by the approver. I'm successful on replacing image inside the zip file under path word/media/file.jpg.

Hi Johnrheyj,
If you have doc template with image then you can replace that image with another image by using ‘Add documents to Zip’ smart service.
This will take document template, existing image path, replacement image and gives new document with updated image. For example if your document is having image1.jpg then in ‘Add documents to Zip’ smart service you can specify the document path of the image as word/media/image1.jpg then it will replace that image with new image. And we have also one input called ‘Create new Document’ in this smart service and we need to give true for it then only it will create new document as output.
So in document template, in place of signature give one default image and replace it in process model.
Note: To find the image, extract the document template by using 7-zip and go to word/media folder.

Hi John.
There is a smart service called "Append Image to PDF" . You can use that to append image.
