Setting exceptions to end events should be used only in tasks that are not workflow-critical. Ideally end-users in a production environment should not have tasks building up - think about moving your actions to start forms or quick tasks such that process instances and, in turn, tasks are not created unnecessarily.

yes George Jacob,you have to configure Exception(skip node) in process model for that particular task(user interface ) ,after the time which you have configured in Exception the task automatically submitted ,

It worked ,awesome!!! and thank you ; a follow up question is if this happens to an end user who doesn't have access to designer ,is there some way a system administrator can run the same steps for his userid.

go to Appian Designer view select processes tab,then in left side click on filter processes started by me,then select all,delete all.
