How are you buddy hope doing good.

For your error response most of the time answer will be access issues. So seems like you are able to call the webAPI that mean user have proper level of security to invoke the webAPI (I assume you are also using webAPI). Now the next thing to check is what type of objects you call inside your webAPI - this could be process model/datastore. Now check if the requesting user have access to those objects. internal server error 500 is a very generic error, but when calling webAPI in Appian most of the time http 500 occurs when user does not have access to the resources/objects that are called with in webAPI.

We also have the same scenario , i have given proper credentials as well and the proper security is also there .Still getting the below error .

The external system encountered an error
error-result-guidance
Failed to connect to wiprocasemgmt.appiancloud.com/.../samplewebapi
HTTP/1.1 500 Internal Server Error

Can you please suggest on this .

santoshd378 Are you still facing this problem? If you cannot see anything in the monitor window, try checking the variables in the runtime tab from process properties. If the process is completed, you should be able to see the process properties and the other details underneath it.

I have configured a process model with two process variables and a script task. When I started the process through Web-API the process is executed but I can't see the process variables in the response. I went to processes tab under run time data, the process status was completed but when I monitored the process there is no script task and process variables in the process.

1. Whether Same user credential is used in Integration Call or it is different?
If it is different. Make sure the user has atleast Viewer access and the user must have designer role.

Yes while testing my web api I got status code as 200. So it's working fine there.

HI Santosh,

check the user credentials you pass has access to webAPI. The user you use in credentials should be part of at least viewer group of the webAPI to invoke it. You will get 404 error when your user does not have access to initiate the webAPI

Santosh,

1. What is the HTTP Method in your Web Api? Since your starting the process, it can be PUT or POST. But as per the image shared, in Integration call it is selected as GET METHOD.
2. When you tested Web API through Web Api Designer Interface, does it works as expected?

for me when clicking Test Request in Integration object its showing 401 unauthorized,but process instance is their in designer view.

first check if you have selected 'Send credentials preemptively instead of waiting for a 401 authentication challenge' check box, then check if you have access to initiate the process model
