I usually consider the 'Compatible Appian Versions' as the minimum version. Check the removals for all new versions to make sure none of the API used by the plugin are not removed. It was last updated on Feb 2017 and I did not see any removals that apply to the plugin since 16.3. You should be good to use it.

no i just looked at the compatible versions i don't see 17.4 i thought it won't compatible with 17.4

I reviewed the release notes - removals and deprecations for all 17.x releases against the APIs used in the plugin none of them are used by the plugin. So, it should still work as normal with 17.4. Not sure why it's not working for you.

Did you try deploying the plugin in 17.4?

we have like 600 instances where we need to do this instead of doing manually is there any other way to update it.

Following the KB action doesn't help, and ACP or PV still pointing to the old version then try removing it completely and close the modeler and reopen and add it back with the correct type.

What Appian version did you encounter this issue?

One more case could be old version of CDT on ACP, per this KB, community.appian.com/.../kb-1139-could-not-serialize-process-model-into-dom-tree-error-thrown-when-trying-to-export-a-process-model
