You could disable the out-of-the-box reassignment and build your own reassignment manually

Hi,

This reassignment functionality will not work if your task will be in activity chaining.

So make sure this should not be in activity chaining

Thank you all for the reply. My requirement is confined to the Appian's Re-assign functionality not through any alternatives.

Hi Lokesh,
Use "modify user security" smart service by using this you can restrict the users in any case. even you use user picker without filters still he will be able to see only users to whom he has viewer rights which where assigned in the modify user security smart service.

Yes chandu , i know the alternatives, we can use through task report or creating a another process for reassignment.
but i want to perform the same though appian functionality itself

We are using customized re assignment approach,
Create a task Report, show it on the selectable grid,
based on the logged in User group and based on the task that the user selected, you can use user picker component for reassignment.

1. Can reassign the task within a pool of assignees.
2. Can reassign the task to anyone.

From the above two options provided by Appian , 1st one is not working as expected as it work as same as 2nd one does, that means it does not restrict user to choose users only from particular group provided, it gives flexibility to add users from another group too.

So that's why we are not able to restrict user to re-assign user from same group.

Hi Geetha,
I think you can cannot restrict the reassignment privileges based on group. These are the options which are generic for all.
If you have choosen "No privileges" and still you are able to see the re assign option? Then please check if the assignment of user input task is "process initiator" and you have chosen "Run as whosoever designed the process model" then this case will occur. you can avoid this by using a process variable in assignment.

You can go with @helmuta option but in that case you need to accept the task first. Will it be okay for your requirement?

I see there is an option for re-assigning to a pool of users. Have you tried that option?
