In resolving an Alert that was intermittently appearing I realized that a process model in our app did not have an XOR gateway fully configured, and I was wondering how this could have been allowed to be published in the first place? As far as I know this model was not copied from another model, but again I don't know this for sure. Interesting to take note of though for the future if we do ever copy something over. Thanks!

RE: Process model published without node configured completely

Hi,

The scenario where the process model works should be a happy path thus resulting in the behavior. As mentioned above, if the process has been copied from another process model it tends to publish the process model as there are path labels available for the gateway. Either way the process will fail when the happy path is not the go.

Let me know if you need more help on this.

Thanks,
It was originally designed by contractors so I don't know the process used to create, I just know that I can now see the path is not configured completely yet the sub process still goes through (usually).

RE: Process model published without node configured completely

That's interesting, Sandeep, thanks for sharing what you've seen. Seems like strange behavior that it would still work with a path label but not the selected path configured - maybe it's a glitch. I thought about reporting to Appian but wasn't sure if I was missing something.

RE: Process model published without node configured completely

Hello Sarah,

You have made this process model new or clone with other by copying the node.

thanks
(sarahk834) ,
This is really interesting observation to discuss on Forum.

I have observed/Faced same kind of issue earlier in one of my process workflow and I got some clue. If we mention Path Label and forget to mention go to/Result option, still gateway flow will work sometime. If you will remove Path Label also It will not work I guess and sure it will through and error while publishing the Process Model.

Thanks,
