it would be tricky one but you have to think for what need to trim. Please see simple example as this one. substitute("Boston",right("Boston",3),"") Please see the list of functions in under Text (docs.appian.com/.../Appian_Functions.html). StripHTML would be one very specific to you case where you don't need unwanted formatting etc while parsing email.

You can write an expression and parse the body of Email use regexMatch function from Shared component to find if there is any email address. This Approach should help you to get the email id from Body.

Thanks a lot for this information. Is there a way by which we can find out the alternate email address mentioned in email body so that if user is ooo mail can be triggered to that user.

Are you able to trigger the process, once OOO reply email is being received. If answer is Yes then :

1. Configure the Start node Trigger to receive message and configure it for Listen to message Type EMAIL.

2. inside Data Tab of Message Event you can configure as below:

Create Multiple Mapping for PV to email parameters:

msg!body --> will return your body content of email

'msg!properties'.'subject' --> this will give you subject.

similarly to can get data for other fields as well.

Thanks for the information but how we can detect the Out of office reply in receive message event. Please let me know. I tried using functions like contains but no luck.

Hi Amita,

To handle this scenario you have to progress with 2 step approach:

Firstly, you have to configure the email trigger in such a way that it will send email with particular email address "Custom Email Senders"(docs.appian.com/.../Configuring_Custom_Email_Senders.html) not the default mail address. As OOO reply always
respond back to mail from which it is being sent.

Secondly, You have to start process the minute OOO reply reached back to the Custom Email, for that you have start the process model for email received. It will trigger the process and there you have all the information like: email address, Timestamp, Body content, Attachment etc. I will not put all the configuration details here, you can simple see at this link: docs.appian.com/.../Configuring_Custom_Email_Senders.html

If the send email node "Sender" is "Process Model" then you can configure that same process model's Start Node to receive and inbound email. That way when the OOO replies a new instance of your process will begin, you will then have to design some process logic to capture the inbound mail details and correlate it to your original outbound one. The following doc should help with the basic understanding, as shown if your outbound email contains an identifier in the subject e.g. [caseID=nnnnn] you will be able to pick this value up on the OOO response.

If an email is send to a user but the user has turned on automatic replies is there a way we can capture that information in appian. Particularly the email address of that person.
