I saw the same issue some months back in 16.2, its not retaining the values. but when we open in different browser the value which we entered is still present. Worth to try this, Please check in a different browser.

Hi David,

Did you try to close the process model and then repon it and then try the same. If you have tried same then please ignore.

I have one more guess on this, since it is deep level object there might be a chance of it is getting disappiared. instead you can set the value at parent level like Key, Keyvaluefield or the above level.
