I have tried this plugin. It update the numeric values under process variables but throws an error if I try to update the date value. Any thoughts?

Another option is to utilize the IFM Manager plugin which will allow mass updates of process data.

You can use "Set External PVs Activity" external plugin which will set the PV based on the process Id.
Process Id's can be fetched using the task Report of the processes where you want to set the PV. In the report itself you can filter out using the conditions you want.
